Social Work Legislative Day

Wednesday, April 10, 2013, 08:45am

Social Work Legislative Day brings together social work students from around the state to advocate for policies that advance social work values and promote social justice and the wellbeing of all South Carolinians.

The morning sessions and advocacy training will be held at USC’s Russell House Theater, followed by student poster presentations in Ballroom C and advocacy tables on the patio during the lunch hour.

For the afternoon, we will head to the statehouse where students will meet with legislators, and expert panels will discuss their work on two key social welfare issues in SC – Medicaid expansion, and the need for comprehensive sex education in our schools.
