From Concept to Practice Considerations: Trauma-Informed Social Work with Children

Please join us for the first workshop of Spring 2018, as part of the College of Social Work Field Education Office’s professional development series. The speaker will be Patrice Penney, MSW, LISW-CP, a clinical assistant professor at the College of Social Work. Focusing on trauma-informed practice has become a major behavioral health priority nationally, yet professionals may lack specific trauma-informed knowledge and practice strategies. In this workshop, we will explore the contribution of trauma to children’s problems and share ideas and strategies for addressing trauma in various contexts for serving children.

CEUs: Free 1.5 social work contact hours for USC College of Social Work field instructors.

Student Field Hours: Enrolled BSW and MSW students earn 1.5 field hours with field instructor permission.
