Bachelor in Social Work (BSW)

BSW CSWE 2016STUDENTS MAKING  A CHANGE
RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!

The College of Social Work’s BSW Program prepares graduates to become competent generalist practitioners who use a person-and-environment framework to build collaborative relationships that promote social and economic justice, and social well-being for the diverse citizens of South Carolina, nationally, and globally, particularly among those who identify with vulnerable populations. This is accomplished through the program’s emphasis on teaching, research, service activities, and community engagement.

The College’s Social Work minor prepares University undergraduate students from other academic programs for responsible citizenship by introducing them to social work as a means to helping people enhance their well-being.

Core values of the profession include service, social and  economic justice, the dignity and worth of each person,  and the importance of human relationships.
