Master of Social Work Admissions

We are pleased that you are interested in the Master of Social Work program. In order to be considered for admission, applicants must meet admission requirements and criteria for both the Graduate School and the College of Social Work. We begin accepting applications in the fall of each year.

The application fee is $50

Application Deadlines
The application deadline for the Advanced Standing Program is February 1.
Applications must be complete, including all supplemental documents by March 1. Please note: any applications or supplemental documents received after March 1 will be considered on a seat-available basis only.

The application deadline for the Full-time and Part-time Programs is March 1.
Applications must be complete, including all supplemental documents by March 31. Please note: any applications or supplemental documents received after March 31 will be considered on a seat-available basis only.

Application Requirements
Advanced Standing

  1. Submit Graduate School application here
    • Autobiographical statement
    • Current resume which outlines education, work, and volunteer activities

Supplemental Documents

  1. Official transcripts from EACH institution attended
  2. Two letters of recommendation (three preferred) from individuals such as professors, employers or supervisor who can provide detailed assessment of the applicant’s specific qualifications for both graduate studies and the field of Social Work
  3. TOEFL or IELTS scores for applicants whose primary language in something other than English
  4. Official GRE scores (The GRE is NOT required of applicants who have earned a master’s degree, or a 3.0 overall GPA)

Full-time and Part-time (includes extended campuses Greenville & Charleston)
