University of South Carolina College of Social Work seeks doctoral students who plan to seek a certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies at USC. 

The Linda M. Summer Social Work Pioneer Fellowship was established to recognize outstanding academic performance, leadership, and social work practice.

The Frank B. Raymond III Social Work Fellowship has been established in recognition of Dean Raymond's distinguished service and leadership.  Upon endowment status, the fellowship will provide educational opportunities for students enrolled at the College of Social Work.

The Tanya and Tom Carter Social Work Fellowship was established to financially assist a student with a field placement in the upstate of South Carolina.

The Margaret Gheen Hatzog scholarship was established to assist students with disabilities to further their education.

The Charles L. Gheen Jr. Fellowship was established to assist students with severe family situations that have proved difficult for the applicant to further his/her education (ex. single parent, no family support, loss of both parents, orphan, foster care or organized children's home).

The fund supports a permanent clinical social work fellowship for deserving graduate students in the College’s MSW program.

Background on South Carolina Initiative on Science and Religion
Founded in 2006, this initiative seeks to become a world-class center for the purpose of enhancing science and religion discourse.  Through seminars, courses, lecture series, conferences, research, and community involvement, the initiative will promote a friendly, but rigorous, dialogue between science and religion.  The initiative will encourage students, faculty, and community members to examine the larger questions of our existence.  Rather than providing answers, the initiative will foster a learning environment that is characterized by tolerance, co-existence, and mutual respect.
