Background on South Carolina Initiative on Science and Religion
Founded in 2006, this initiative seeks to become a world-class center for the purpose of enhancing science and religion discourse.  Through seminars, courses, lecture series, conferences, research, and community involvement, the initiative will promote a friendly, but rigorous, dialogue between science and religion.  The initiative will encourage students, faculty, and community members to examine the larger questions of our existence.  Rather than providing answers, the initiative will foster a learning environment that is characterized by tolerance, co-existence, and mutual respect.
