The Food Access and Family Food Shopper Study is a 4-year project that examines food access, dietary intake, food security, sources of food, food purchasing behaviors and psychosocial or economic issues among family food shoppers. The project focuses on communities of high poverty and low access to healthy food. The study’s mixed methods include use of individual interviews, Global Positioning Sytems and Geographic Information Systems mapping of the community food environment, and extensive evaluation.
