·      Bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or proof of equivalent training at an institution outside the United States

The traditional pattern for completion of MSW requirements is to register for 15 hours per semester and complete all 60 hours in four semesters.

Students with a BSW degree from an accredited Council on Social Work Education undergraduate program completed within the previous six years may apply to enter the College's advanced standing program.  Admission is on a selective basis and is based upon the academic preparation and personal qualifications of the applicant.  Once admitted as an advanced standing student, a student enrolls in a summer program of course work.

The Part-time, Extended Programs of the College of Social Work are designed to meet the needs of the student who, because of financial, family, or work commitments, cannot enroll on a full-time basis on the Columbia campus.  Part-time programs require a longer time to complete degree requirements and may require that students enroll in summer courses. 60 HOURS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE DEGREE
