Hunger Knows No Rivalry Week activities!
We will be in front of Russell House each business day between April 2 and 9 between 12 noon and 2 pm advertising our drive, selling t-shirts, buttons... Also getting the word out about the College of Social Work! Still looking for some folks to man the table with us, especially early next week!
We are at several baseball games leading up to the big one next week letting folks know about our efforts to combat hunger!
Social Justice Day is on Friday and will focus on Environmental Justice and Hunger!
Our movie night is Friday night at 6 pm featuring Silent Killer (silentkillerfilm.org)! A panel of COSW faculty and local community organizations will follow discussing the movie and hunger in South Carolina!

Learn about Project Walk-A-Mile!
MSW student L.W. Eubank is the Walk-A-Mile (WAM) Project Coordinator for the 2007-2008 academic year and is being supervised by Dr. Maryah Fram.
This is a national educational program that links policymakers with low-income constituents to learn more about each other’s lives. For more information, please visit http://www.walkamile.org/.
The founder of Walk-A-Mile will come to USC to train us and speak with us about her work and macro social work more generally. Date to be announced.
WAM will culminate in a half-day Hunger Summit in the Spring semester bringing together participants, hunger-serving organizations, community leaders, students, and academics to learn from one another and discuss ways to end hunger in South Carolina.
Bring canned goods from your pantry and other items for the Emergency Food Pantry at Harvest Hope!
Most needed items include: canned goods (such as meat, vegetables, fruit, tomato sauce, beans, soup, stews, pop-tops items, evaporated milk); dry goods (such as peanut butter, rice, instant potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, grits, coffee, crackers, powdered milk, beans; and personal items (such as diapers, baby wipes, soap, shampoo, feminine Products, toothpaste).
Our collection will be ongoing throughout the year.
