COLLEGE OF SOCIAL WORK HIRES NEW DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Dean Dennis Poole is pleased to announce that Derek Brown will join us on June 2, 2008 as the Director of Development for the College of Social Work. Derek received his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Wofford College and holds master degrees in Social Work and Public Health from USC. He is currently employed as the Director of Development for HopeHealth, Inc. in Florence, SC. HopeHealth is a federally-funded Community Health Center serving the city of Florence and is also an HIV/AIDS service organization caring for three regions and 12 counties of South Carolina. Derek was previously employed as an Administrator with the South Carolina Children’s AIDS Care System in Columbia and has held positions with the Lower Savannah HIV Care Consortium and the SC Department of Mental Health. He has been successful in obtaining over $17 million in private and federal grants since 2003.
