National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week poster design winner: COSW MSW Student and COSW MSW 2005 Alum
Allison Hillerich is currently a first year student in the College of Social Work MSW program and shared the following field placement experience with her field liaison, Dr. Terry Wolfer, on April 18, 2008. Allison's preceptor, Elizabeth Halbing, is an MSW from the COSW program in 2005.
Allison's field placement is at William S. Hall Psychiatric Hospital on the children's unit. This semester, Allison and Elizabeth decided to work with the children on a submission for the poster contest sponsored by the National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health. The poster promotes National Children's Mental Health Awareness Week, May 4-10, 2008. Working with the children to develop ideas, Allison and Elizabeth then put the children's art work together for the poster. The poster won not only the state poster contest but recently won the national poster contest as well!

The poster is offered at the two web sites below for customization and distribution:

The Dean's Office has received a poster customized for the Federation of Families of South Carolina which will be framed and displayed at the college. We're not only very proud of Allison's and Elizabeth's involvement in this crucial issue but with their educational preparation at the USC College of Social Work!
