The Office of the Provost is charged with the oversight of the University of South Carolina's graduate and undergraduate academic programs as well as curriculum development, program assessment and university accreditation. It is also responsible for leading the formulation and implementation of system-wide academic affairs policies relating to faculty hiring, retention, tenure, promotion and development.
The office manages strategic planning processes and provides budgetary oversight for all USC Columbia academic units and academic support areas.
Provost Arnett is the chief academic officer of the University of South Carolina and oversees the schools and colleges of the USC Columbia campus. She is charged with overall leadership of academic affairs of the university, including curriculum development and establishment of academic standards in the schools and colleges.

Dr. Addy is responsible for coordinating and advancing the interests of faculty, including leadership training, family friendly requests, tenure, promotion, and review, endowed chairs, dean reviews, internal grants and SEC travel grants. She also serves as dean of faculty and oversees the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Analytics and maintains the University Policies and Procedures Manual.

Dr. Kelly oversees general education requirements, the First-Year Reading Experience and provides guidance on undergraduate academic initiatives within and beyond the classroom. She is responsible for oversight of Global Carolina, the Center for Teaching Excellence, the Center for Integrative and Experiential Learning, Office of On Your Time and the University Advising Center. Dr. Kelly shares oversight with the Associate Vice President for Student Housing and Sustainability over the Faculty Principals and their living-learning communities.

Scott Verzyl leads Enrollment Management, which includes the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Office of the University Registrar, the Visitor Center, New Student Orientation, TRIO Programs, Veterans Services, Legal Residency, and Enrollment Analytics.
