Not all diseases can be treated with traditional medicine. We focus on how plant-derived products can help improve health outcomes.
Our researchers go beyond scientific inquiry and look for ways to apply their findings to improve health outcomes. One way we apply that research is through our centers and institutes, many of which are supported and funded by the National Institute of Health.
Our research pulls on ideas and techniques from diverse departments throughout the Medical School and the larger University of South Carolina campus. Not only do these partnerships give us access to all the technology and resources available at our Tier 1 research university, they help us conduct research that can directly improve patient outcomes.
